Edward Nixon Gray set a warning for the raiders that killed his son, Henry Gray, only fourteen years old at the time, in 1873. These raids were called the last Indian Raids, actually they were Mescaleros which included Anglos, Mexicans, and Indians. They commited this brutal murder on the Gray Ranch, "La Gloria". Henry lived long enough to tell what happened and his father's words still remain on the land today near the spot he was killed. Michael Gray took the photograph below in 1996.
