"Terrible Henry" - 20 x 30- catalogue #3613 - original canvas $8,200 - giclee available
When the Henry Rifle was first introduced it caught the Indians completely off guard. It was the first repeating rifle and held 16 to 18 .44 caliber cartridges. Indian Braves were experts at knowing how long it took an enemy to reload and would gage their attacks accordingly. When they first came up against "Terrible Henry" they got quite a rude awakening and could not believe how much fire power one man could possess.
